只为一段旋律

     很早之前就想翻译这首，不过都是因为完全抓不住原文的感觉就作罢。昨天夜里一时兴起，三个小时下来便得到下面的结果了。惊奇（惊喜）的是，直到为了找歌曲连接好作为背景音乐播放的时候，才发现artist 竟然就是 Elvis Costello。这个名字，最早是听那首无比辛辣戏谑的《Monkey to Man》，然后是，前几天下的《滚石》杂志评选的所谓《The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time》，里边收了三首Elvis Costello，(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding，Alison 和Watching The Detectives，分别排284，381，354。总之是无论如何都没法和这里的She 联想到一起。虽然两种都是大爱。

     歌的MV至少是高一或者初三的时候看的了，不过还是记忆犹新，因为是《诺丁山》的原声，所以有不少电影里的镜头。《诺丁山》里面的女明星，美得遥不可及，和平凡的男主角的短暂爱情，看起来也仿佛只能是成为他这辈子的永久回忆。我喜欢这首歌，就是因为它把自己唱得很低，它唱的这样的爱是这么卑微，只能从低处昂头仰望。就像张爱玲写的，“见了他，她变得很低很低，低到尘埃里，但她心里是欢喜的，从尘埃里开出花来。”当然电影里面还是给了我们一个 happy ending，不过真实地过着简单日子的我们，也许只能把这样的爱埋在脚下的尘土里，任凭它自生自灭。

     最喜欢那一句“I'll take her laughter and her tears, and make them all my souvenirs.” 想起《不忠》里面年轻的法国书商，把一本旧书送给初次见面的美国女人，女人推辞，他就不以为意地说“Souvenir.” 你就把它当作纪念品吧！纪念什么呢？还不是一生一次但是又没法持久的爱。
